Sixteen boards, one game
A backgammon board is furniture for the mind — you'll stare at it for hours, so it should be worth staring at. Every image below is the board itself, drawn by the same renderer the app uses — the toranj medallions, the Selçuk stars, the kintsugi seam, the grain and the felt nap are all really there. Six ship free with every account; seven premium boards come with Pro or à la carte.

Made with cultural care
The five heritage boards are built from their source traditions, not from stock “exotic” palettes: Persian Miniature draws on Safavid-period Tabriz manuscript painting — deep lapis lazuli, aged ivory, restrained gold; Turkish Mosaic on Iznik ceramics — cobalt, turquoise, coral on white;Greek Café on the whitewash-and-shutter-blue of the island kafeneio;Kurdish Mahabad on the Kurdish hand-weaving tradition, named for the historic city of Mahabad — madder-red wool, indigo and saffron points, a lozenge chain inlaid in aged gold down the bar; and Arabic Calligraphy on the pan-Arab calligrapher's atelier — black ink and gold leaf on tea-stained parchment, bound in oxblood leather, with a chain of shamsa rosettes down the bar and never a single written word, so the ornament stays pure. Each is built with cultural review in the loop. They pair naturally with theregional variants — takhteh nard on lapis, tavla on Iznik tile, tavli on Aegean timber.
Every theme ships in light and dark renditions, follows your device setting, and keeps full board readability — point contrast and checker legibility are checked per palette, not eyeballed.
Premium boards (Persian Miniature, Turkish Mosaic, Greek Café, Kurdish Mahabad, Arabic Calligraphy $3.99 · Neon $1.99 · Marble $4.99) can be bought outright, earned with coins, or unlocked all at once with Boardgammon Pro. Laurel & Gold — the Boardgammon house table — is a coin exclusive at 75,000 coins, and the super-premium Imperial Jade (150,000) and Obsidian & Gold (200,000) crown the coin ladder — all three also come with Pro.
