Who writes
Posts are published by Boardgammon, the small team that makes Boardgammon, Checkers Crown and Chess Moment. We do not invent authors, experts or quotes. When a named person has written or reviewed a post, the post says so.
How a post is made
A post starts from a question a reader might ask. We collect sources and open each one ourselves. Then we write down every factual claim the post will make, next to its source and the sentence in that source that supports it. A claim without a source is taken out.
Every post has to add something of its own: a position we drew, a figure from our own games or engines, or a clearer explanation than the ones already online.
How we use AI
AI tools help us research, draft and check every post on this blog. They do not decide what is true: the sheet of claims and sources does.
Each edition is checked by a second, independent review before it is published. When a person who reads the language natively has also read and approved an edition, the post says so under its headline.
One article per language
A post can exist in several languages. Each edition is written in its own language from the same sheet of facts, and none is a translation of another. Editions may differ in length, order and examples. They may not differ in facts.
Science and health
A post about research says what a study found and what it did not show. Nothing here is medical advice. We make board game apps, so we have an interest in what that research says, and those posts say so.
Pictures
Boards and positions are drawn by our own software, so the position you see is a real one. Screenshots show our own apps. Old pictures are used only when they are free to use, and they are credited. Illustrations made with AI are marked as such and never stand in for a photograph of a real person, object or event.
Our own games
Posts link to our games where that helps the reader. We describe what the games do today, and we keep prices and offers out of articles.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we correct the post and its updated date changes. If you find a mistake or a phrase that reads oddly, write to [email protected] with the address of the page.
