Live games, English draughts

Online matchmaking runs the English checkers / American draughts ruleset on the 8×8 board: pieces move diagonally forward, captures are compulsory, a piece reaching the far rank is crowned, and kings move both ways. The server validates every move, so an edited client cannot skip a forced jump or crown early.

Open the board, choose checkers, and join the queue — guest play needs no account, and you can attach an email later to keep your record.

Three engines, genuinely different

Easy & Medium

Heuristic opponents that play sound, readable checkers — material, kings, and centre control — without hunting for tactics. The right sparring partner while the capture patterns are still new.

Strong

A search engine that looks several plies ahead, sees multi-jump combinations coming, and will trade into a won king ending. Expect to lose a few before you find the seams.

Other checkers variants

Draughts is really a family of games, and the rules differ more than most people expect — flying kings, backward captures, board size, and whether the strongest capture is mandatory. Our reference guides coverEnglish, international,Russian,Brazilian, pool,German,Turkish dama, andItalian draughts — see all of them incheckers variants.

Online matchmaking currently runs English checkers only. Concentrating a growing player pool into one lane means you get a game in seconds instead of waiting alone in an empty room; the other variants open up as the pool grows.
